A Murder in Time by Julie McElwain

Kendra Donovan, an ambitious and alluring FBI agent that many saw as a trailblazer, climbing the ranks. Until the situation changes drastically when a double agent acts and it results in half of her squads’ murder, and severe injuries herself. But once she is able, she abandons the agency in search of revenge on the individual responsible for the massacre.

After a multitude of incidents like a near assassination and confused for a lady’s maid, Kendra hastily conforms to her new time period and position until she is able to determine how she ended up in that era and most importantly, how she can leave it. Yet, she is dragged into a puzzling mystery when a young girl’s body is found on the extensive manor, it sheds light on the purpose of her peculiar stay. Stuck in unfamiliar territory with none of her advanced equipment, Kendra must use her intellect and insight to stop the devious lunatic terrorizing this town.

A near perfect mix of an Agatha Christie murder plot with advanced technology and a brainy, resilient female character. Time travel in this novel is explored as a weapon and a means of escape from judgement and punishments. The weaving of different eras provides Kendra the perfect framework to flourish as a talented force to be reckoned with.
